About the Show

A fun family Christmas show for all ages – featuring three famous Grimm tales with a blues and R&B soundtrack.

Germany 1805. When inseparable brothers Jacob and Wilhelm Grimm return to their family home to discover their favourite library is threatened with closure, they set off a journey to collect folk stories and save it! Join them on this once in a lifetime adventure with some of your favourite fairy tales!

Retelling three famous Grimm tales the way only Spontaneous Productions can – there were highly entertaining versions of Tom Thumb, Rumpelstiltskin and The Elves and the Shoemaker – accompanied by a fantastic soundtrack of blues & R&B numbers, just a little reminiscent of classic songs from a certain cult film…

The Gallery

Staged in the wonderful St Barts Church, where last year’s Beauty & The Beast was such a big hit, this was a spectacular show for all ages and not to be missed. It featured Spontaneous regulars Hjalmar Nordén and Wictor Koch as the Brothers Grimm, and returning for her fourth Spontaneous Christmas show Shireenah Ingram (‘Cinderella’, ‘The Snow Queen’) as their mother Frau Grimm. Rounding up the cast was Chioma Nwalioba – previously seen as Peter Rabbit and Rapunzel – as the delightful Henrietta. With choreography by Olayinka Sobitan-Solomon, costumes by Jackie Poulett and music and songs adapted by Yumi Mashiki and Paul Tornbohm, this was our biggest, funniest and most entertaining family show yet!

The Credits

  • Songs and music adapted by Yumi Mashiki and Paul Tornbohm
  • Costume design and associate producer Jackie Poulett
  • Choreography Olayinka Sobitan-Solomon
