A course of 12 fortnightly sessions. Suitable for aspiring scriptwriters of all levels of experience. Over 16s only.
The course will be led by facilitator and tutor Jonathan Kaufman, a highly experienced and qualified teacher of English, scriptwriting and creative writing. It explores the techniques of scriptwriting, both for stage and screen, through in-session writing and homework tasks.
Full price: £12 per session (each half-term payable upfront @ £72)
Concession price (unwaged, full-time student, retired): £8 per session (each half-term payable upfront @ £48)

Term 4: Stage and Screen
Covers the essentials of writing for the stage and big and small screen. Recapping work done in Terms 1-3, this will reintroduce key themes and concepts for the beginner scriptwriter, exploring story, character, structure, dialogue, subtext, formatting and stagecraft / visual storytelling. Writers will produce a polished piece of stage or screenwriting. The Summer term will look at writing comedy, in a variety of media.
Both half-terms will culminate in a reading of original scripts by professional actors.
