Scriptwriting workshops for complete beginners (over 18s only)
A course of 20 fortnightly sessions (over 3 terms). Suitable for aspiring scriptwriters. The course is led by facilitator and tutor Jonathan Kaufman, a highly experienced and qualified teacher of English, scriptwriting and creative writing.
Over 20 sessions it introduces the basics of storytelling, writing for the stage and screen, including creating characters, dialogue, dramatic structure and basic stagecraft. The course culminates in a session with professional actors, who will read from students’ work in progress. There will also be opportunities to see your work performed as part of our regular new writing ‘scratch night‘ programme.
Full price: £20 per session (payable upfront @ £140 for seven sessions)
Concession price (unwaged, full-time student, retired): £15 per session (payable upfront @ £105 for term 1’s seven sessions. May be paid in two instalments if preferable)
Venue: Activity Room, Sydenham Centre, 44a Sydenham Road, SE26 5QX
Time: Every other Wednesday evening, 7.30-9.30pm. Confirmed dates for first 3 sessions are Wed 16 Sept, Wed 30 Sept, Wed 14 Oct. Later sessions tbc.
