About the Show
Hop into a magical adventure!
Like a frog leaping into the air, Sydenham-based theatre company Spontaneous Productions kicks off its Autumn Season 2026 in style, with a brand new, musical version of the beloved fairy tale The Frog Prince – er, sorry – Frog Princess.
Think you know the story of The Frog Prince – the poor green royal stuck in a pond until someone should come by and kiss him? Well, always expect a twist with Spontaneous Productions!
Meet Princess Bheki, the spoilt and pampered only daughter of the Maharajah. When she refuses to marry, her father has her turned into a frog with disastrouus – and comic – consequences. But soon befriended by charismatic Daddoo the Frog can she learn to accept her new way of life? And what of her maid, who has been turned into a slow-moving turtle? Is there any way back for these two?

For families with children of all ages – and adults too – featuring songs with fabulous south Asian musical styles like bhangra and Bollywood, and packed with jokes, action, shadow effects, audience participation and Indian dance, it’s not to be missed!
As we expect big crowds, please book in advance if you can, and arrive early to ensure we can seat everyone as quickly as possible. Thank you!
