We’re inviting local families to take part in a joyful outdoor theatre production of The Pied Piper of Sydenhamelin this May!

This is a unique opportunity to perform in a professional, community-led show—no experience needed, just enthusiasm and a willingness to join in.

 

📅 Dates & Times

  • Friday 29 May – Workshop & rehearsal (12pm–4pm)
  • Saturday 30 May – Rehearsal + performance (12pm–approx. 4:00pm)

📍 Location: Green space behind Sydenham Library (Home Park) All activities take place outdoors – please be prepared! 🌂

✅ Important Info

  • You must be available for both days
  • You must complete the application process and receive confirmation of your taking part
  • This is a free opportunity, but we cannot cover expenses

🎉 Performance

  • Saturday performance begins at 2:30pm
  • Friends and family are welcome to attend (free event)

👪 Who Can Take Part?

We’re looking for families (children with a responsible adult).

  • Children should ideally be aged 5+
  • All children must be accompanied by an adult
  • One adult can supervise up to 4 children
  • We welcome participants with access needs—please let us know in advance

🎭 What’s Involved?

Participants will:

  • Learn simple songs, movement, and scenes
  • Perform as part of the ensemble (e.g. townspeople, rats)
  • Have the option for adults and older children to express interest in speaking roles

👕 Costumes

  • Some costume elements will be provided
  • You will be asked to bring simple items (e.g. plain clothing)
  • Guidance will be shared after sign-up and confirmation
